Barb Charpentier
Barb manages Woodloch's tack shop and is the friendly voice that greets you when you call.
At age 10, Barb started riding her Dad's horse, "Dynamite." This was the most homely, ornery, stubborn, and smart horse ever made," says Barb. She recalls leading the horse for three miles to her friend's house, because all he would do was rear and spin around. After reaching her friend's home, Dynamite ran away with her! Despite what happened that day, Barb never gave up, and Dynamite knew Barb was determined. After that day he went all over for her.
A few grown-up, sad years of being horseless passed, and then Barb and her daughter, Lisa Reynolds, got back into the horse business. Barb met Jim Charpentier on the Northwest Saddle Club's Pony Express ride in the 1970s. They have been married 24 years and have a 47-acre farm in Stacy.
"I enjoy trail riding and showing," says Barb. "This year alone I have won 5 high point trophies, and will win the North Metro Association and Northwest Saddle Club year end awards in 50 and older pleasure. Not too bad for a great grandma!"
Barb owns and shows her horse Shezan EZ Reward - a five-year-old double Registered Paint/Quarter horse mare. Barb is "Champion" in the Halter/Showmanship division and the Western Pleasure Riding division of the Minnesota Quarter Horse Awards for the Open Show Program. Barb achieved this title in 2007 and again in 2008.
Barb says, "I could only have achieved my many awards through the clinics and lessons I have taken at Woodloch. Thanks, Rambergs!"
