Woodloch Stable Youth Summer Day Camps

Come camp with us—we have one of the most fun and educational programs around! Our comprehensive week-long camp covers many different riding disciplines, including western, huntseat, bareback, and trick riding. Each student is responsible for a horse throughout the week, with structured lessons and supervised practice rides daily.

Students also learn about interesting aspects of horse care through hands-on participation, demonstrations, and group discussions. Topics are varied and include feeding, cleaning, veterinary care, farrier care, horse breeds, riding disciplines, and much more.

Trail rides and a cookout are favorites among the other activities in this fun-filled, five-day camp. Parents are encouraged to attend the mini-show on Friday afternoon, where campers get to show off what they've learned during the week. Each camper will receive a T-shirt to remember their time at Woodloch.

Camps are available for riders of all levels and abilities. Our instructors are focused on making sure your child has a fun, educational, and safe time at camp. We make every effort to group students of like ages and abilities together so that each child gets the most out of their camp session.

Five-day camps are available for riders ages 9-18. These camps run Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Two-day camps are available for younger riders, ages 7-9. These sessions run Thursdays and Fridays, from 9:30am to 3:00pm.

For qualified riders,* we offer overnight camping trips at Wild River State Park. These special sessions go to the park overnight on Wednesdays and come back Friday mornings. Campers spend many hours exploring the beautiful park trails on horseback, guided by our experienced instructors. Campers also learn to care for their horses while away from home.

*To sign up for the overnight camp, the rider must be at least 11 years old, must have attended previous day camps (or been in lessons for at least one year), and must meet minimum skill requirements as determined by the instructor.

Woodloch's summer youth day camps are available from June through August. Class sizes are limited to ensure individualized attention. Book early—camps fill up fast! Please call us at 651-429-1303 for 2009 session dates and availability.
