"Riding is the art of keeping a horse between you and the ground."
At Woodloch Stable, we pride ourselves on teaching a solid foundation of communication and understanding that will translate to any riding discipline. Lessons are available for all ages and skill levels—from kids to seniors, from first-timers to experienced show competitors. We have two instructors, each bringing a unique perspective and experience to Woodloch's overall guiding philosophy of effective communication. We offer comprehensive beginning lessons in both western and english riding. Learn the basics in a fun, relaxed, and supportive atmosphere. Lessons go beyond just riding. You'll learn to catch your horse, lead, groom, tack up, ride, and care for your horse. Our instructors and assistants will guide you through the process, emphasizing safe horse handling practices both on the ground and in the saddle.
We believe in creating well-rounded horsepeople, so we also offer opportunities for our students to participate in fun activities outside of regularly scheduled lessons. We have schooling shows, drill teams, clinics, day camps, trail rides, and overnight camping trips. These extra opportunities are available to Woodloch students at the discretion of the instructor. Minimum skill levels may be required for some activities. Weekly group lessons run hourly from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on weekdays. Lessons can be scheduled on weekends by request. Private and semi-private lessons can be arranged by appointment, subject to availability.
